No. The portable application launches directly from the full LocalAIStick folder. No setup or administrator rights are required.
Not for normal local AI use. Models, runtimes and PDF tools are in the portable package.
Plus 4B is the recommended all-rounder. Starter 2B is suitable for weaker devices, Pro 9B for systems with more performance and RAM.
Chats and settings are saved directly in the data folder on the LocalAIStick and are not automatically transferred to the provider.
First select “Automatic” in the settings. LocalAIStick tries Vulkan, CPU and CPU compatibility. If you have problems, you can switch the backend mode specifically.
Yes. Text PDFs are read locally. Scanned PDFs can have pages processed as images. Common image formats are directly supported.
